The most common problem with Samsung TVs involves the volume not working or staying at the previous setting. Don’t worry; it is an extremely common issue if this occurs. The following steps explain how to fix it.

Samsung TV volume issues often involve the TV’s Smart Hub. Resetting the Smart Hub will resolve the issue.
- Scroll down to Support in the Settings menu on your remote.
- Click on Self Diagnosis.
- Reset the Smart Hub.
- Enter the TV’s PIN (the default is “0000”).
- Reset takes 30 seconds to complete. Hopefully, your volume is working now.
1. Reset your smart hub
Samsung Smart Hub is essentially a TV app store that you can customize. You can reset the Smart Hub to factory defaults to get all the information out of your account.
Some applications will require you to sign in again after you do this. On your remote, click Settings. Pressing the Menu button instead of the Settings button is an alternative to the Settings button.
Next, click on support and then Self Diagnosis. A Reset Smart Hub option should appear. Choose it.
When you first turn on your TV, a PIN will be requested. If you haven’t previously set one, the default is “0000.”. Your Smart Hub settings will be reset once you enter the PIN. The volume problem should now be resolved.
Make sure you delete any unused apps no matter what! Once you’ve completed step one, move on to step two. You will soon see this volume issue return if you do not take action.
2. Remove apps to free up memory
After resetting the smart hub, the next step is to remove any apps you aren’t using. Doing this will prevent your volume issue from returning.
The Samsung TVs download apps automatically, clogging up your memory with unnecessary stuff. You’ll need to delete unused apps long-term if you want to fix the volume issue.
The first step to fixing this is to navigate to the ” Apps ” menu. Click on the ” Apps ” menu from the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.
After that, you can go to Settings, which can be found at the top right of the screen (represented by a gear).
Your Samsung TV will display all of the apps that have been downloaded. These apps were either added during the setup process or updated automatically. Any applications you do not use should be deleted, one by one, in either case.
You will not be able to delete a few apps on Samsung devices. Many streaming services, including Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, and VUDU. Ignore these apps and move on.
3. Use only one remote
It might also be worth considering switching to only using the Samsung remote once your Samsung TV volume has been restored. Avoid using any generic remote, such as cable companies, Xfinity, DirectTV, etc.
The volume issue has been reported to be fixed using the steps above, but it has returned as soon as the user uses a different remote.
Apparently, your Samsung TV remote is experiencing interference from a signal from your generic remote. It’s unclear exactly why this is happening. Get rid of the other remotes if you want to make things easy.
4. Reboot your TV
Additionally, restarting your TV for a soft reset is probably a good idea for good measure. In most cases, this is enough to resolve intermittent issues. Remove the Samsung TV’s plug and wait 30 seconds before plugging it back in.
Make sure you hold the power button on the television for 10 seconds before plugging it back in. Make sure you use the power button on the TV and not the remote control.
The TV will then be allowed to soft reset after any residual power is drained. Simply plug in your TV again, and you’re done!
5. Perform a Factory reset on your TV
You need to factory reset your Samsung TV if you are still experiencing volume issues or your volume is getting stuck after trying all the above steps.
By contrast, a factory reset restores your television’s original settings after it is hard to reset, rather than after power cycling. Your television’s settings and information will be wiped clean.
Therefore, this step has been placed at the bottom of our list. Samsung TVs are factory reset in slightly different ways depending on the year they were manufactured.
The best way to do this is to get into Settings > Support (or General) > Self Diagnosis, then Reset.
6. Samsung remote support center
The last resort is to call the Samsung Contact Center at 1-800-726-7864 (8 am- 12 am EST 7 days a week) and ask for remote support.
- Go to the Support section in your TV’s menu.
- Read the service agreement and select Remote Management. Provide the PIN number to the agent when the PIN screen appears.
- Once this is done, the agent will access your TV.
Important note: A high-speed internet connection is required to make Remote Service function on your TV. A slow internet connection or an inaccessible TV makes it impossible to connect.
It is a known issue with a relatively straightforward fix if your Samsung TV’s volume is not working. The first thing you need to do is reset the Smart Hub on your TV.
It will immediately resolve your volume issue because your hub will be returned to its original settings.
The next step is to go into your app settings and delete all unwanted apps. Several of these apps come pre-loaded on Samsung TVs, and some of them are updated automatically during updates.
